Matt Huston
editor – writer

I’m a Commissioning Editor at Aeon Media Group, where I work on the online magazine Psyche. Previously, I was on the editorial staff at Psychology Today for nearly a decade. I’m passionate about communicating new perspectives and evidence-based insights on mental health, personality, decision-making, and other topics in the realm of human behavior.
My work
I’ve written or edited various sorts of articles – including essays, reported pieces, and how-to guides – for Psyche and Aeon magazines. You can also find my writing and Q&As for Psychology Today magazine here.
Some examples of what I’ve edited:
- How to take things less personally
- How to talk about someone’s substance use
- Seeing grieving as learning explains why the process takes time
- Are you sure you know what emotions are?
- How to be a good friend to an Autistic person
- What a psychiatric diagnosis means – and what it doesn’t mean
- Don’t let them fool you
And a few of the articles I’ve written:
- What to do when racing thoughts keep you up at night
- Why that hard conversation will probably go better than you think
- A revolution is happening in psychology. Here’s how it’s playing out.
